You don't need a perfect prompt

Most people freeze because they think they need the right words first. You don't. You need a starting point and the willingness to say "no, that's not it, here's why."

That's not failed prompting. That's collaboration.

Three ways to start messy

Start before you're ready

Say the messy version out loud. Dictate it if you can. The AI's first job is to reflect it back, not to solve it.

"I have a half-formed idea. Tell me back what you think I'm really after before you suggest anything."

React, don't specify

It's easier to say what's wrong with something than to describe what's right from scratch. Let it make something, then react.

"Give me three very different takes. I'll tell you which one is closest and why."

Ask what you're missing

The spark usually arrives when the AI connects something you didn't mention. Invite that on purpose.

"What am I not seeing here? What would someone outside my business notice first?"

What Jason actually did

This site started that way. A business partner asked how to catch up on how I work with AI. I didn't have an answer, so I talked it through with two different AIs, rejected several versions, and argued with both until the shape showed up. You're reading the result.

The Spark Lab

Write the messy version of something on your mind. Pick where you want to go. You'll get a conversation starter to paste into your AI. Nothing you type leaves this page.
